Youth Protection

It is the duty of all Rotarians, Rotarian’s spouses, partners, and other volunteers to safeguard to the best of their ability the welfare of and to prevent the physical, sexual or emotional abuse of children and young people with whom they come into contact.

District 9630 has a specific Youth Protection Policy which complies with both the Child Protection Act 1999 (Queensland) and the requirements of Rotary International. The Rotary Club of Toowoomba upholds this policy and the Club's Youth Protection Officer is responsible for ensuring that our club members are aware of their obligations for youth protection under this policy. The District Youth Protection Officer is responsible for ensuring that incidents are correctly dealt with in accordance with the law, Rotary International’s “Sexual Harassment and Abuse Reporting Guidelines” and the District’s Youth Protection Policy.
