Toowoomba Community Care Transport

This project of The Rotary Club of Toowoomba was initiated in the 1995/1996 Rotary year to transport needy persons who need medical treatment. Volunteers provide their own vehicles and time as directed by an employed coordinator who works from an office in St Vincent's Hospital, Scott Street, Toowoomba. An Administration Fee of $17.50 enables a person to be transported from their home to receive medical treatment and return. All services are subject to small fees due to no government funding. Forty-four volunteers transport 6,000 residents of Toowoomba from their homes for medical treatment or attention annually.
